Day 3 of our KVR bike trip and it’s been the best day yet – the trail conditions in the park are good (they are not good outside the park), the scenery is spectacular and the ride down the forest service road is… exciting and exhilarating (sp!). But it all pales beside the Myra-Canyon Ranch and the hospitality there. What a beautiful setting and what a beautiful house you have. IT was so peaceful and restful here.

We were very happy in our Outfitters’ Tent. We slept like logs and awoke to a wonderful breakfast on the sunny porch. Myra Canyon Ranch is a true hotspot: Fast WIFI, lovely warm weather, great wines & beer, and mosquitos that – however few – know where to get you. After travelling three weeks from Vancouver to Vancouver Island and on bon board the Rocky Ountaineer to Calgary and Banff we were struck by the pleasant and personal hospitality of your little Swiss lolony. We very much appreciated your trail tips too! As an urban designer I truly admire the “architecture without architects” of your handsome ranch!
And so on to Jasper, AB, the icefields and the moraine lake lodge where we fear the weather may be quite different.

Exceptional views, riding (horse + bike), hot tub, rooms, beds and hosts!!! This is a true piece of B.C.’s paradise. Thank-you so much!!
I liked everything, except that there were not enough awesome storms. I also liked all the hospitality, the view, and the trestles. The breakfast was phenomenal, as was the city. I enjoyed going horseback riding, and all the attractions. The beds were really nice, except for my dad snoring like crazy. I liked the way you cooked and the bumpy dirt roads. I adored the way you made your house, with all the cool designs, most importantly getting to stay here and I loved your pets. (Quentin 10 years old)

Reviews sound great but it is even better in person! If you like nature, a great view, fantastic horseback riding trails, this is the place! Kids are really welcomed here. Thank you Yvonne, Joerg and the rest of the team for a wonderful stay and making us feel part of your “family” for a few days.
Nous n’aurions pas pu imaginer de meilleures vacances. L’environnement est enchanteur: une vue a couper le souffle, les chevaux qui broutent tranquillement, les chants des oiseaux et la chaleur d’une construction de bois. C’est tres reposant. La nuit, aucun sons, moteurs, bruit. Que la nuit noire et la multitude t’etoiles. Le personnel est acceuillant, attentif sans nous mettre de la pression. Ce qui tout qu’on se sent vite a l’aise, comme chez nous. Bravo a Yvonne et Joerg qui ont reussi a creer cette atmosphere incroyable!

Als wir uns entschlossen hatten, dieses Jahr wieder Urlaub in B.C. zu machen, war für unseren Sohne (5) sofort klar, dass wir „zu Yvonne” müssen – so sind ihm die drei Tage im 2009 in Erinnerung geblieben (als damals 3-jährigem).
Das Hochbett, die vielen Tiere, der Wasserspielplatz in Kelowna, das nächtliche Mückenjagen, der Hot Tub, das Grillen auf dem Holzdeck bei schöner Aussicht – alles in allem ein Kindertraum. So hiess es eben, als wir über die Weiterreise gesprochen haben, auch nur kury: „och Schaade!”
Wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt, einzig das mit dem bestellten Wetter hat gar nicht geklappt L Wir wären gerne länger geblieben, aber wir wollen doch noch so viele andere schöne Orte entdecken…

Erich Weber, der im Mai 2009 bei Euch war, hat nicht übertrieben! Die Übernachtung im Eagle’s Nest mit der wunderschönen Aussicht war wunderschön. Das z’Morge so fein und mit Liebe zubereitet. Nach zwei Wochen wieder einmal richtiges Brot!

Thank you so much for making Bria’s 11th Birthday so special. We all loved the trail ride and the horses and the amazing vistas were outstanding. As we are horse people we can’t say enough about Anne and the entire team. All of the girls loved grooming and helping out around the barn. The food, accommodation and hospitality were superb! Wir haben 1 ½ wunderschöne Tage in einem aussergwöhnlichen Haus in sehr angenehmer Atmosphäre verlebt. Dank Yvonne’s hilfreichen Ausflugtipps konnten wir in verhältnismässig kurzer Zeit verhältnismässig viel sehen. “Klasse” und das Spaghetti Dinner und das selbstgebackene Brot. Wir wünschen Yvonne, Jörg und ihrem Team alles Gute und noch viele Gäste die auch so schöne Eindrücke mitnehmen wie wir.

Ein sehr schönes Haus mit toller Aussicht, superfreundliches Team und ein klasse Frühstück. Das „Adlernest“ ist einfach traumhaft und auch das „Spaghetti-Dinner“ war vom Feinsten. Schade, dass Kanada so weit weg von Deutschland ist, sonst kämen wir mal wieder vorbei.

We had a lovely ride from Idabel Lake on the KVR and arrived to a warm welcome from Yvonne – Beautiful location! It was a chilly damp night and we stayed in the Outfitter Tent – stayed warm and dry! We BBQ’d and had dinner on the deck with the setting sun over the lake – incredible peaceful – this morning Yvonne has again been an informative and gracious host!

Dieser Aufenthalt bei Euch ist nun fast das Ende unserer 19-tägigen Reise durch Kanada. Bei Euch hatten wir das schönste Wetter und so konnten wir unsere kurze Zeit bei euch in diesem wunderschönen Haus geniessen. Ein Haus auf das man „Stolz” sein kann!! Hier möchte man selber leben. Die Gastfreundschaft bei Euch ist auch „erste Sahne“. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Eric and I really enjoyed your place. It is so nice how you have set it up. The rooms are excellent. Eric really liked the loft and I truly enjoyed the sense of nature around us. Thank you for showing Eric how to ride a horse. It was his first time and he will always remember it. You were so helpful with info. What a nice place. We don’t want to leave. We hope to come back soon.
PS: Nicest breakfast I’ve ever had at a B&B (# 1) fresh bread, awesome eggs!

Alles was man schreiben möchte, hört isch wie eine Wiederholung sämtlicher Einträge an…. Aber es ist einfach so. Das Haus ist klasse, die Zimmer toll von der Aussicht und dem Hot Tub mal gar nicht gesprochen. Das Team ist super gastfreundlich und das Frühstück lecker. Thank you for a great 2-night stay in the Hummingbird room. The breakfasts were filling and amazing, it all looked so good we wanted to eat it all, but we were stuffed with good food already. The most amazing property in the area. Restful and relaxing, a perfect spot to refresh. The personal attention was spot on. Loved watching the stars through the skylights at night. Breakfast will be missed – back to reality. Will definitely recommend this to all our friends who travel.

Our time here exceeded our expectations. The quiet tranquility and beautiful views made our stay unbelievably relaxing. You manage to offer a place that is warm and friendly and comfortable but at the same time elegant and luxurious so that it is a exquisite treat.
We truly enjoyed our time here. Thanks also for accommodating our funny soccer schedule and giving me suggestions on how to fill in the gaps with activities I might enjoy. I appreciate that you let the older girls arrive early to study. Everything worked well, right down to the hot tub at the end of the day and a glass of wine and a chat.

Looking for a weekend getaway with the family we could not have found a better place. Perfectly remote, four wagging tails to greet us, magnificent suite, and the feeling of friendship from Yvonne and Joerg. It was the perfect mix of rest and activity, especially with our two-year old (child, not horse) who constantly asked to go see the horses and the doggies. Ein schönes Fleckchen Erde mit sehr netten und kreativen Leuten. Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft, wir haben uns wie zuHause gefühlt und noch besser, da die Luft und das Wasser in Shanghai nicht halb so gut sind wie hier. Falls unsere Tochter Maria an der UBC studieren wird, werden wir wohl noch öfter hier vorbeischauen.
Wenn ihr mal Fernweh bekommt und eine ganz andere Kultur kennen lernen möchtet,dann kommt uns mal in Shanghai/China besuchen.

In the early morning on the last day of our trip to Kelowna there is snow coming down so quiet and softly which is a great way to end our trip. Being the only ones staying at the Ranch we enjoyed breathtaking views and tranquil peace. After getting stuck in the snow it was great seeing Joerg and Yvonne’s smiley face and their big truck to pull us out!! Thank you very much for making our stay so great!!

2011 has been the fourth season at Myra-Canyon Ranch in Kelowna, BC and provided again possibilities to meet a great mix of people staying at the bed, bale and breakfast, the vacation rental or boarding their horse. Furthermore Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park offers unlimited trail riding and the nearby Kettle Valley Railway Trail (KVR) is famous for its cycling. |
